About: Who We Are

Get ubiquitous.

What is Ubiquity?

Here is a phrase we hear all too often. Our organization, our community, our following thrives upon a simple ideology. All of us exist in a world we shared with more than 6 billion peers - to spend just a few passing moments to meet every other person would be impossible in any one lifetime.

We are artists. We are entrepreneurs. We are writers, musicians, inventors. We are anyone with something to share. We are here to interact with the world on a whole through the only true means for any ordinary person to do so - by a planetary central nervous system we know as the Internet. Through the finest modern technology and devoted service we are truly and genuinely everywhere, all of the time.

Everyone Has a Story

It all started with one at the onset of the new millennium, when the stream of inspired local businesses and area musicians approaching Ubiquity founders Clint Chapman and Corey Northcutt to establish their place in the world connected by the interweb was finally answered - in web hosting form. After tireless work, the first Ubiquity web server came online with just a few dozen sites, running hosting software that no one had ever heard of (and still hasn't) to the small city of Bloomington, Illinois. Were ever a problem arise (hey, things happen), someone sprang into action, regardless of the hour of day (or night). Those who once feared the vastness of Internet needed no longer fear, and it was good.

Word spread in our community and before long it became very clear that one little town in Central Illinois wasn't enough to meet the demands of those asking for our hosting help. Bloomington's Internet connection provided only so much capacity, and furthermore - all our Internet routes passed through one place before traveling anywhere. It was time to upgrade our facilities, and our base of rapidly growing Internet startups was lovingly migrated to a major data center the great city of Chicago.

From a new facility at 350 East Cermak in Chicago, we had thousands of Gigabits per Second of Internet capacity at our immediate disposal, and the tools one needs to host a website that never goes down. Our alternate brand - Ubiquity Server Solutions - was born, and with all of the greatest technology that a modern data center had to offer, our size increased fast. Really fast. Ubiquity grew so fast, in fact that soon the entire industry soon knew our names. Finally joining forces with other very successful entrepreneurs of voice, Internet relay, and gaming communications in 2006, we increased the general scope of our company, forming the Nobis Technology Group; providing our company perhaps the broadest resources of technology-oriented minds in Internet services today.

Here and Now

It's not nice to brag, but to tell this story we're left no choice. Ubiquity is now one of the most recognized forces in web hosting. In an industry densely oversaturated with resellers of resellers of resellers, Ubiquity now maintains our own data center facilities in five major U.S. cities. From the server hardware right down the data center technicians - the unmatched web hosting service we've developed remains our own, through and through. We even run our very own smart-routing Internet network (ARIN AS15003).

But through all of this transformation, some things remain the same. Clint and Corey can still be found in our Bloomington offices throughout the week, making sure the same level of customer service and quality that prompted so many Internet-hungry webmasters to want a place on our very first server. And all of us have one thing in common - that desire to reach millions with a thought - the will to become the next great entrepreneur - and to do this, we must all Get ubiquitous.
